6 soldiers wounded, 30 Boko Haram Terrorist killed ambush

At least six soldiers have been wounded while about thirty terrorists were killed in a failed ambush by fighters of Boko Haram sect on Saturday, November 26.Military Checkpoints

It was gathered that a group of Boko Haram militants – numbering up to 40 – opened fire on the soldiers of the 121 Task Force Battalion who escorted a convoy of Gwoza Local Government Area officials along Maiduguri-Bama road, close to Bama.

While speaking to newsmen, the Chairman Caretaker Committee of Gwoza Local Government Council, Hon Saeed Salisu Sambo who was in the convoy disclosed that the terrorists detonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and followed with sporadic gun shots which was immediately repelled by the gallant troops.

The troops pursued and dealt with the armed attackers with military precision.

Honourable Saeed who was full of praises for the Nigerian troops said that no life was lost on the side of the troops and civilians.

He said: “I must commend the gallantry of the troops led by the duo Patrol Commanders of the 121BN Captain S. Suleiman and Lt. N. Ayuba.”
