Abdullahi one of the cadets explained what happened to the Governor by saying that himself and Peters were along Mile 12 after visiting a friend when they heard a knack on their windscreen and they saw Lawal attempting to escape.
That was when they ran after him into the market and dragged him (Lawal) down. He then asked who Lawal is working with because he knows Lawal cannot repair the damaged windscreen. He added that he wanted to see the man he is working with so that everything can be settled with him. He then told Peter that they should hand him over to Airforce police at the Airforce Base,
