The Kidnappers of the Commissioner for Local Government in Bayelsa State, Madam Sarafina Otazi, have demanded a ransom of #40m for her release.
Otazi was kidnapped at gun point and taken away forcefully on December 20 at Otuoke when she was on her way to a funeral in Ewoi Community in Ogbia Local Government Area.
According to her family member, the kidnappers had made contact with them and they are demanding a ransom of N40m to set her free.
The family member, by name Frank, said in Yenagoa yesterday that the family was relieved to hear from Otazi and pleaded that the kidnappers should free her unconditionally.
Otazi had served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Acting Chairman of Ogbia LGA.
In addition, the whereabouts of Governor Dickson’s younger sister, Nancy Dickson who was abducted in less than 24 hours before Otazi still remains unknown as the duo spent Christmas in the kidnappers’ den.
