Three persons suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect, unleashed terror in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, on Tuesday, killing at least 7 persons according to reuters.The explosive devices were detonated at Sajeri, a town on the outskirts of the city centre, around 8:30 p.m. local time (1930 GMT), according Ba’ana Musa, a member of a youth vigilante group that helped to evacuate people.
“Seven dead bodies have been evacuated from the scene of the blasts,” said a Red Cross official.
A security source confirmed the attack but could not give details at the time of filing this report. “I don’t have the full information now but the attacks happened, that I am very sure of and lives were involved,” he said.
Sani Usman, who is army spokesman, refused to comment on the incident. “I cannot talk to you now,” he said.
Despite the efforts of the military, Boko Haram has continued to attack soft targets in the north-east.
