Mrs Buhari asks APC not to renege on their Electoral Promises

The wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari has appealed to to the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress APC not to renege on their electoral promises of paying N5,000 to 25 million unemployed Nigerians and giving school children one free meal a day.

She made her statement available to journalists on Tuesday through her media aide, Adebisi Olumide Ajayi. This comes after the senators from the party voted against the senate moving a motion calling on the Presidency to pay the N5,000 allowance.

The statement read, “The wife of the President, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari, has appealed to the ruling party All Progressives Congress, APC not to renege on their campaign promise of paying N5,000 to 25 million unemployed Nigerians and giving school children one free meal a day“.

Speaking further, Mrs Buhari said The APC is a party of integrity and had assured Nigerians during the campaign that it would pay N5,000
each month to 25 million most vulnerable citizens.

“The wife of the president asked Nigerians to be patient with the APC government as the change they had been yearning for had come to stay.”
Though the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Nigerians that it will not renege on its campaign promise to pay N5,000 each to 25
million vulnerable Nigerians.
The assurance is contained in a statement the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, issued in Abuja on Friday.

The failure by the Senate on Wednesday to pass a resolution urging the ruling party to fulfil the campaign promise to unemployed youths has generated loads of controversy.

Chief Olisa Metuh, Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, while reacting to the event at the senate, had said that the senators opposed to the motion acted APC’s script.
