Nigeria has qualified for the final of this year’s West Africa Football Union (WAFU), Cup after defeating Benin Republic 1-0 on Thursday. Kano Pillars midfielder, Rabiu Ali, scored the only goal of the encounter against their 10-man opponents.
The Super Eagles grabbed their goal in the first 11 minutes of the encounter. Benin’s chances of recovering was dealt a blow when Koukpo Marcellin was handed his marching orders in the 33rd minute.
Nigeria will, on Sunday September 24, face hosts, Ghana in the final.
