The Next Rated Award which is seemingly the greatest award of the night accompanies a considerable measure of acknowledgment (and the reward of a fresh out of the box Hyundai Car).

The most loved for the award Lil Kesh (Signed under Olamide’s YBNL record) shockingly did not win, as the award went to Mavin craftsman Reekado Banks.
This evidently angered Olamide, so he raged unto the stage when Adekunle Gold (Another YBNL artiste) got his award for Best Alternative artiste with the entire YBNL team.

Olamide yanked the mic from Adekunle Gold and indignantly impacted Headies saying the award ought to have gone to Lil Kesh as he had consecutive hit tracks lasting through the year. Olamide expressed “Iyalaya anybody” and flipped off the entire hall before dumping the mic on the stage and raging off the venue with his team.

As soon as Don Jazzy was given a Special Recognition award and in his speech he stated that he has never liked awards and that he had told Reekado Banks and Korede Bello (who were both nominated for Next Rated) that he’d buy cars for them.

Don Jazzy went on to say: “Egbon Olamide, if you want the car come and collect it”. He and the Mavin artists also angrily left the venue.

This was followed by an uncontrolled social media outburst by the YBNL boss.
