The Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, has vowed to pursue the unity of Yoruba people with heartiness during his reign.
He said disunity in ranks due to political differences among other sundry issues has made the Yoruba race not be the shakers and movers of the country’s political and economic sectors in view of its intellectual power and material resources
The Ooni of Ife said this at the weekend when members of the Afenifere Renewal Group, led by its National Chairman, Hon Wale Oshun, paid homage at his palace in Ile Ife, Osun State.
Also, members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Correspondents’ Chapel, Ekiti chapter, paid regardful visit to the revered monarch the same day.
Oba Ogunwusi described the Southwest as very pivotal to the peace of the country, because of its complexity in human resources and being the commercial hub of the nation.
The monarch included that his love for development and protection of Yoruba history piqued his interest in the unity of the zone, as those who have penchant for excellence and to be at the forefront when critical decisions are being taken , rather than
taking a back seat .
“When I came onto this throne through divine favour, I promised to work with all like-minded Yoruba persons to move the Southwest up in all spheres.”
