He also stated that the command has arrested eight suspects involved in the armed robbery and murder of Dr. Adedeji Adejobi and Abdulahhi, the street security guard. The incident occurred on July 14th 2015 at about 11pm in Ile Ife.

The suspects are: Abiodun Damilola Jawefa, Adegoke Adeolu, Sunday Okoro, Abiodun Ayeni, Faisal Musa, Biliaminu Alasan, Sule Victor and Boby Eric.

The suspects had confessed that the gun used to  kill Dr. Adejobi was fired by Anthony Okoro and it belongs to Abiodun Damilola Jawefa.

Police  report on the murder case negates the assassination claims in some quarters as the Commissioner stated that the gang had earlier snatched a Toyota Corolla at Ilesa which they used to trail the deceased who was driving home in his Toyota Venza , a sport utility van.

He said the laptop computer  of the deceased, phones and cash were recovered at Sabo Ibadan  from one of the suspects, Faisal Musa, who he said was one of the custodian of stolen goods.

He also had plasma television set, laptop computer, two locally made single barrel guns, one live and three expended cartridges and one empty shell of 9mm pistol ammunition in his custody, which was recovered from him after his arrest.

The CP stated that the suspects had been arraigned while efforts to arrest Okoro, who shot the lecturer and the security  guard were still on.
