An 18-year-old Endurance Akpan, who was alleged to have killed his mother, Mrs. Lovina Akpan, in Etim Ekpo L.G.A. of Akwa Ibom was one of those paraded yesterday by the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Uyo.
Endurance, the last child of eight children killed his mother on arrival in his village from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he lives with his father. He went straight to his mother’s room and tricked the woman out, by telling her that he had something important to discuss with her. As they got to the room where Endurance had tricked her into, he tied his mother’s hands to her neck with a wrapper and strangled her to death.
He pulled her out of the room after she had died, to a pit toilet within the compound and dumped her there and thereafter left for Port Harcourt, where he was arrested.
