SSANU to shut down 30 universities December 24

The National Executive Council of SSANU took the decision to stop academic activities in the nation’s universities after its meeting in Abuja

The National President of SSANU, Comrade Samson Ugwoke, stated that the action of government to retrench over 2,000 staff is contradicting the Federal Government and SSANU agreement of 2009.

Ugwoke also stated that SSANU had written to the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, urging him to order the withdrawal of all letters from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, National Universities Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education directing Vice-Chancellors to exclude personnel of the University Staff Schools from the pay-roll.
