A widower, Aare Femi Adebayo, who is a businessman, is staging a legal battle with the management of University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, for the death of his wife, Mrs Funmilayo Adebayo.
According to Mr. Adebayo, the death of his wife was caused by incompetence and negligence on the part of medical experts that conducted a test on her. The woman was said to have gone to the teaching hospital for routine medical check-up, but died in the process.
While insisting that his wife, who did not complain of any ailment, was killed due to negligence on the part of the hospital, the widower has sought the services of two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Akin Olujinmi and Rotimi Akeredolu, to write the management of the hospital to release the report of a post-mortem test conducted on the deceased within seven days.
He said his wife, aged 58, had, on January 25, driven herself to UCH in company of a housemaid, Odunayo, for medical check up which she had started a week earlier.
The hospital’s Public Affairs Manager, Mr. Deji Bobade, declined comment, but said the hospital would respond at the appropriate time.
