NIGERIA- There was pandemonium in Lagos on Boxing Day, when an armed policeman killed three football fans before killing himself.
The sad incident occured at a viewing centre in Ketu, a bustling region in Lagos State.
Eye- witnesses, relate that an argument ensued between the policeman and the football fans during the English Premiership match between Chelsea Football Club and Watford on Saturday.
The course of the argument could not be ascertained, but was adjudged to be related to the two Nigerians (Mikel Obi of Chelsea and Odion Ighalo of Watford) playing for the English teams.
In the course of the argument during the match which ended 2-2, the armed policeman shot the victims at close range before shooting himself.
The owner of the viewing centre has been arrested and is being interrogated. The identities of the victims could not be ascertained at press time.
