UK anti-doping agency cleasrs Tyson Fury to fight again

Tyson Fury has been cleared by the United Kingdom Anti-doping, Ukad, to return to boxing.

The Briton had been charged in June 2016 for testing positive to banned substances. He had told the hearing that he had eaten uncastrated wild boar which had affected the outcome of the test.

Fury has now accepted a backdated two-year doping ban. Also, the British Boxing Board of Control, BBB of C, has agreed to the outcome of the matter. The 29-year-old will now receive his license after which he will return to the sport.

Hughie Fury, Tyson’s cousin, has reached a similar agreement after he also tested positive in February 2015. The Furys insist they have “never knowingly or deliberately committed a violation”.

Ukad maintain that doping violations took place. Both fighters’ respective bouts in February 2015, including Tyson Fury’s victory over Christian Hammer, have been disqualified but results after that date, including the win over Klitschko, still stand.
