Edo 2016: 740 delegates to pick PDP governorship candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has commenced accreditation of 740 delegates for the primaries of the Edo governorship election which will hold today. pdpThe New exercise, which began at about 9.30 a.m., is taking place simultaneously at three centres, with Okada House on Urubi Street hosting delegates from Edo South.
Delegates from Edo North are being accredited at JBS Estate, while accreditation for those from Edo Central is being conducted at the party’s secretariat at First East Circular Road.
The aspirants for the primaries are; Chief Solomon Edebiri, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Mr Mathew Uduoeyekemwen, all from Edo South.
The National Committee of the party for the conduct of the primaries, led by Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi had announced that the exercise would take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
According to Umahi, after accreditation at the three centres, all the delegates will be conveyed from the centres to the stadium through an arrangement by the committee.
He assured the aspirants, delegates and other members of the party that the exercise would be credible, free and fair.

Edo State PDP publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Enehikhare, told NAN that the primary election was being conducted on the directive of the National Caretaker Committee of the party.
