The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has released the Ekiti state Finance commissioner, Toyin Ojo and Accountant-General, Omobola Owolabi.

Wilson Uwujaren, the commission’s spokesman confirmed this on Wednesday.
The EFCC had arrested the officials over alleged misappropriation of the Paris Club refund, adding that they were arrested following their refusal to honour the commission’s invitation.
The officials were arrested in Ado-Ekiti, at the time the governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose was declaring his intention to run for presidency in 2019.

Lere Olayinka, governor Ayodele Fayose’s spokesman also confirmed their release.

‘’They were released in Abuja after they had scrambled fruitlessly for non-existent evidences with which to prosecute them.

“If they had anything against the Ekiti government officials, I’m sure they would have made a show of the entire matter in the courts.”
