Not less than two persons have died, with some 17 others injured, as a result of gunshots fired at a ‘teen’ club night in Florida.
One of the local news outlets WTSP said that up to 17 youngsters had been shot in the nightclub, according to Lt. Jim Mulligan of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting is said to have broken out at Club Blu in Fort Myers, Florida, in the early hours of this morning at a ‘teen party’.
One of the two confirmed dead is reported to be 14-year-old. Although police were seen on the scene, there is no official confirmation of the causes of the incident.
Syreeta Gary, whose daughter was at the scene said, ‘Well, I just thank God that my daughter is okay. She could have been shot. She was dodging bullets and dropping between cars.
‘It is ridiculous that kids have to go through this and they cannot enjoy themselves because you have people with criminalistic minds who want to terrorize people.
‘She was running away from bullets so she wouldn’t get shot. Her friend got shot in the leg.
