There was a mild drama played out in Delta state in the course of the weekend when some commercial sex workers reportedly attacked their customers over unpaid bills.
The commercial sex workers in Delta State capital, Asaba, has increased their charges and had warned their customers that doesn’t want to comply shouldn’t come patronise them but the victims claimed that they were not aware of the increase in their charges.
An eye witness, Ngozi Njeh, said that a round of sex which used to be N1,000 had been increased by 100% while a night stand also known as ‘Day Break’ had been increased to N8,000 from N5,000.
It was discovered that the genesis of the whole issues was when the victims entered into one of the brothels as usual negotiated with the commercial sex workers to pay N8,000 for a night each.
One of the sex worker, Anabel Onweh, said the victims had agreed to pay them N8,000 each but after the act the victims gave them N4,000 in the morning which was against their bargain and the decided to attack them by beating them mercilessly.
Investigations revealed that the victims were forced to drink the water the sex workers used in washing their private part after their clothes had been torn, which made them susceptible to injuries before the police arrived at the scene to rescue the victims.
The matter was thereafter reported at the police station, an officer from the police station said it was the noise they had from the brothel that made them storm into the scene.
The officer also added that during the course of interrogations, it was discovered that the said customers refused to pay the agreed victims, the matter was resolved amicably based on this sex workers’ terms.
