1. Recognize you have a problem

Admitting to yourself and others that you have a problem and setting out to fix it is the first and most important step to fight alcohol addiction. Denial of the obvious problem can be very detrimental to your road to recovery, so also is reluctance to take conscious and planned steps to achieving freedom. State it clearly to yourself that “alcohol is a problem and it is destroying my life” take a solemn decision to change your ways and decide to stick with the selected process for your recovery. Take down the definite date you have decided to start this change process as it can be a reference point throughout the stages to measure progress. 

2. What inspires you to change

Make it clear to yourself what motivates your desire to change. 4. Do not set un-achievable goals

Setting goals is very essential to your success in this fight. Set goals help to condition your mind to your purpose and helps to build the necessary discipline you need to succeed.
