LOCAL SAFETY

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted persons in a daring operation in Lafia Local Government Area.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with local vigilantes in Angara and Fadaman Bauna villages of the Lafia East Development Area.

The rescued victims, comprising two females and one male, were found unharmed and were given immediate medical attention before being reunited with their families.

The police operation was triggered by a complaint received on January 7, 2026, that suspected kidnappers had invaded Angara village and abducted two females, leaving behind an infant. The assailants later kidnapped another male in the same community.

According to Ramhan Nansel, the state Police Public Relations Officer, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, ordered an immediate manhunt for the suspects upon receiving the report. The police subsequently stormed the kidnappers’ hideouts, leading to the arrest of the six suspects and the rescue of the victims.

He said:
