A 65-year-old man, Lawal Angala, and his son, Isah, 19 have been remanded in prison for allegedly raping their neighbour’s nine-year-old daughter. The suspects committed the crime on May 2, 2018 at Safana in Katsina state. The pair was said to have lured the victim into their apartment before taking turns to rape her.
Shamsiya Abdullahi, the victim’s mother, reported the matter at the Safana police division leading to their arrest.
Hajiya Fadile Dikko, who presided at a Katsina senior magistrates’ court where the accused persons were arraigned for the offence on Monday, directed that they be remanded in the prison custody till June 14, 2018 when their case would come up for mention. She said their case would be transferred to the High Court.
