Oluwarotimi Akeredolu The Ondo State Governor, has warned petroleum marketers and owners of fuel stations to desist from hoarding Premium Motor Spirit as well as creating artificial scarcity in the state.

The Governor disclosed that the warning became necessary after long queues surfaced at filling stations across the state, notably in Akure, the state capital on Wednesday.

While noting that contaminated petrol was not sold in the state, Akeredolu in a statement issued by his Chief Press Officer, Richard Olatunde, expressed displeasure with fuel station owners’ excessive hoarding of the product.

Many residents of Akure had on Wednesday woken up to fuel scarcity, a situation that major cities in the country have had to deal with in the last two weeks.

To relieve residents of the long hours spent at fuel stations, the Governor asked all petrol stations in the state to dispense petroleum in their tanks at the regulated Pump Price.

”Governor Akeredolu has ordered the Governor’s Task Force to travel around the state to ensure that all laws are followed.
