Super Eagles forward Victor Anichebe has allegedly reported his club, Beijing Enterprise to FIFA over match fixing claims, the Daily mail reports.

Anichebe allegedly opened up on the issue after he claims his coaches told him “not to try” on two different occasions, including in a local derby match.

The former Everton and West Brom forward joined Beijing Enterprise in June 2017 and has been at logger heads with the club since October last year.

Anichebe alleges that upon confronting some of his teammates, he was told “This is China, we do as we are told”.

Soughting legal guidance on the case, the 30-year-old striker contacted Manchester-based sports Lawyer, Chris Farnell to take up his case.

Farnell reached out to the club’s General Manager on the issue on two occasions, but his appeals were ignored and no action taken.

The report stated that Anichebe claims the friction between both parties had caused him a year of his footballing career.

He expressed displeasure and stated that, he had good chances of making the Nigerian World Cup squad if he had been playing regularly.

The Ex Sunderland man has now filed an official case against Beijing Enterprise to FIFA and hopes proper actions would be taken.

This is not the first time the Chinese League have been mentioned in tandem with match fixing allegations.

Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua were stripped of their 2003 Chinese Super League title due to similar charges.

In 2013, the Chinese FA fined 12 top-League outfits £103,000 each and also expelled 58 current and former officials, players, referees for match-fixing and bribery after a three-year investigation.
