The All Progressives Congress (APC) has upheld the expulsion of Inuwa Abdulkadir, its National Vice Chairman (North West), for disciplinary issues.

The APC confirmed the development in a statement issued by Lanre Issa-Onilu, its National Publicity Secretary, on Thursday.

According to the ruling party, it decided to maintain the decision taken by the Sokoto State chapter of the party, which extricated Abdulkadir completely from the party.

It noted that the expelled member failed to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee to defend himself against the accusation of anti-party activities levelled by the Sokoto State APC chapter.

The statement read: “The NWC of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has upheld the disciplinary actions of Magajin Gari “A” Ward, Sokoto North Local Government, and the Party’s Sokoto State Executive Committee on the Party’s National Vice Chairman (North West), Malam Inuwa Abdulkadir over anti-party activities.

“The party organs in Sokoto State have earlier expelled Abdulkadir and passed on their recommendation to the NWC for ratification.

“The decision to uphold the action of the Sokoto APC organs was taken at a meeting of the NWC held at the party’s national secretariat on Thursday.”

It added: “Following the suspension of Abdulkadir, the NWC will subsequently forward the decision of the Sokoto State organs to the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) for further actions.”

Abdulkadir had in a letter to the party said he could not face the Niyi Adebayo-led disciplinary plenary constituted by the APC National Working Committee as he had instituted a suit against the party.
