Boko Haram releases photo of kidnapped UNIMAID staff

The Boko Haram terrorists have released a picture of the staff of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) who were captured in Magumeri local government area of Borno state.

The victims were attacked while returning from an oil exploration trip to the Lake Chad Basin.

Five of their colleagues were killed alongside staff of the Nigerian National  Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), soldiers and members of the civilian joint task force.

Ibrahim Njodi, vice-chancellorof the institution, had said UNIMAID was reluctant to enter into a partnership with NNPC but that the school authorities were assured of “adequate security”.

Njodi said the school was “seriously concerned” about the safety of those in captivity.

Those in the picture released by the sect are Yusuf Ibrahim, Solomon Yusuf and Haruna Dashe.
