Barcelona and Spanish midfielder, Aitana Bonmati has been confirmed as the winner of the Ballon d’Or Feminin – the female category of Ballon d’Or.
The Golden Ball had been the property of Spain and Barcelona striker Alexia Putellas for the last two years, but a long-term injury ruled the 29-year-old out for the majority of last season.
Having won the Champions League with Barcelona and the World Cup with Spain, Bonmati has take her chance.
This adds to her winning the Women’s World Cup Golden Ball and the UEFA Women’s Champions League Player of the Tournament award.
