President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to follow the pattern of the UAE, by appointing a 24-year-old man as his Personal Assistant on New Media. Bashir Ahmad, is an indigene of Kano state.
Mr. Bashir is a graduate of Bayero University Kano, where he obtained Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 2013.
He worked as an online editor and reporter at Rariya Hausa Newspaper, before joining Leadership as an online editor.
Bashir has also worked as the personal assistant on new media to Sam Nda-Isaiah, the publisher of Leadership, who contested along Mr. Buhari for the All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential ticket for the 2015 election.
He went on to serve at the Buhari Support Organization (BSO) prior to the presidential elections.
His function as Personal Assistant on New Media to Buhari, will be to oversee Mr. Buhari’s communication on social media and related platforms.
