President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of Dr Shettima Bukar-Abba as the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
The Deputy Director, Planing and Strategy of the commission, Mr Chucks Okoli made this known in a media chat the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
NAN reports that Bukar-Abba’s appointment was sequel to the death of Alhaji Muhammad Bello Alkali, the former Executive Chairman of the Commission, last Friday
He said that before his appointment on Monday, Bukar-Abba, who is a seasoned civil servant, was the Federal Commissioner representing Borno State in the commission.
He said that the Acting Executive Chairman, who was also a two time Secretary to the Borno State Government, had assumed duty.
