President Muhammadu Buhari, has embarked on a short vacation from Friday February 5 to Wednesday February 10, 2016.
This piece of information was made public by Femi Adesina, special adviser on media and publicity to the president. Mr. Adesina in his statement, said, Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president, will perform the functions of the president while Buhari’s vacations lasts.
“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” read the statement.
Prior to this step by President Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, was the last to officially hand over to the vice president while on vacation.
