According to Vanguard, Former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has described as baseless, the controversy trailing President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura as the Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS.
Daura, who hails from Katsina State as President Buhari, critics of his appointment also alleged that Daura is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Reacting to these allegations, Gbagi urged those criticizing the appointment to learn from history because past leaders, military and civilian appointed people they were comfortable with and who incidentally were from their areas.
Speaking with newsmen in Lagos, he said: “I will take military and democratic situations. General Aliyu Gusau was the head of National Security Organisation (under former President Shehu Shagari) when he was removed by a coup. He was retired.”
