Champions League matchday three is halfway over after eight fantastic matches on Tuesday that produced 31 goals, with each match seeing at least two goals.

Tottenham got a fantastic 1-1 draw on the road at Real Madrid, which tastes like a victory after Borussia Dortmund failed to beat APOEL.

Spurs remain six points above Dortmund with a plus-nine goal differential over the Germans. A big reason why the team got a point on Tuesday was Hugo Lloris, who was fantastic in goal.

Real had 21 shots, eight of them on goal, and Lloris pulled off some wild saves.

It was another impressive win for the on-fire Citizens. Manchester City beat Napoli 2-1 in a battling of two of Europe’s best attacks, with the English club going up 2-0 after 13 minutes before holding on.

The Citizens conceded two penalty kicks with Ederson saving one right before half time by stopping Dries Mertens in what proved to be the difference.

Liverpool went to Maribor and secured the three points quickly. A 7-0 victory, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho both found the back of the net before the match really even settled in.

Firmino opened the scoring on four minutes, then nearly 10 minutes later, Coutinho needed just one touch to add another.

Mohamed Salah soon after made it 3-0. Salah finished with two goals and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold both scored in the dying minutes to complete Liverpool’s most dominant scoreline on the road in European competition.
