Anyim Pius Anyim, a former Secretary to the Government of Nigeria, has noted that the challenges of 2021 was so daunting on Nigerians.
The politician made this statement in his Christmas message to Nigerians where he pointed to the economic hardship, insecurity and other challenges that bedeviled the country in the passing year.
Anyim, who was also the President of the Senate between 2000-2003A, called on Nigerians to thank God for sparing their lives.
In the message he personally signed, the former SGF said the country will overcome its challenges “when we pulled together.”
‘We all started this year 2021 with high hopes and expectations. Naturally, as individuals, families, communities and indeed a country, we will retain memories of good and not too good experiences in one are of our lives or another in the year 2021. However, whatsoever may come our way this year, we must give thanks to God ror sparing our lives.
“For our country, the challenges we have faced in 2021 may have been daunting. We may have been stretched almost beyond limits in every facet of life. But there is good news. Our problems don’t define us. Nigerians are hardworking, peace-loving, accommodating and happy people.
“We have always overcome our challenges when we pulled together.
Our collective will and determination will always be stronger than our problems.”
He encouraged the people to look forward the coming with renewed hope, optimism, adding that Nigeria will be great again.
