COVID-19: Boss Mustapha speaks on reports that Nigeria paid for COVID organics from Madagascar

Boss Mustapha,  Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, has disclosed that Nigeria did not pay to get Madagasca’s COVID Organics, its herbal remedy for coronavirus.

He made this statement while speaking at the Presidential Task Force Briefing on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to the SGF, the government of Madagascar decided to give to African countries which Nigeria’s portion was brought by  Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of Guinea Bissau, on his visit to meet President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

Mustapha said: We have repeated that we didn’t ask for it. It was given to us by the government of Madagascar to African countries as their contribution towards solution to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The consignment for West Africa was dropped in Guinea Bissau and we were making effort to airlift. As God would have it, the President of Guinea Bissau visited our President last Saturday and came with our consignment of five cartons. They were handed over to me yesterday evening (Monday) sealed.

“It was handed over to me without an invoice, so I assume it didn’t come with any cost.”

Reports had emerged on the new media stating that Nigeria paid the sum of €170,000 for the COVID-Organics from Madagascar.
