A total of 544 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Sunday.
In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 199 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 65 in Ebonyi State, 47 in Oyo State, 46 in Ondo State, 31 in Ogun State, 30 in Edo State, 28 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 28 in Katsina State and 15 in Plateau State.
Bayelsa State recorded 11 new cases, 10 each in Kaduna and Adamawa states, eight in Akwa Ibom State, seven in Gombe State, four in Kano State, three in Taraba State, two each in Abia and Rivers states and one in Ekiti State.
Eleven new deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 645.
