Borussia Dortmund defeated Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich 2-0 on Saturday, to claim their first German Super Cup title in five years.
Prior to Saturday’s game, Bayern Munich had won the last three Super Cup titles.
Second half goals from Paco Alcacer in the 48th minute and Jadon Sancho in the 69th minute, secured Dortmund the first silverware of the season.
The last time Dortmund won the German Super Cup was in 2014, where they also defeated Bayern 2-0.
Saturday’s win saw Dortmund claim their sixth Super Cup title in their history.
Bayern were crowned Bundesliga champions on the final day of last season, pipping Dortmund to the title.
