The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Saad Abubakar, has told Muslims to look for the new moon of Shawwal 1443 After Hijarah on Saturday 30th April 2022, equivalent to the 29th day of Ramadan 1443 After Hijrah.
Sultan’s call was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sokoto Sultanate Council, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu.
It said the sighting should be reported through the following telephone numbers:
0803 715 7100; 0706 741 6900; 0806 630 3077; 0803 614 9757; 0803 596 5322 as well as 0803 594 5903.
Sighting the crescent moon of Shawwal, which is the 10th month in the Islamic calendar marks the end of the Ramadan fast.
