Nigeria’s House of Representatives has ordered its committee on Aviation to investigate Maxi Air and Aero Contractors over recent accidents involving their planes.

According to a motion which was moved by Umar Bala from Kano State, Max Air flight carrying 140 passengers including the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero had an engine failure on Tuesday.

He stated that Aero Contractors flight also suffered a bird strike that almost led to a crash involving 90 passengers.

The lawmaker said that “despite the echoing of a large strange sound at the point of take-off by the Max aircraft the pilot and his crew dismissed any feeling of insecurity and took off.
