Ex-NNPC GMD Maikanti Baru is dead

Immediate past Group Managing Director, GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru is dead.

The NNPC GMD, Mr Mele Kyari in a statement through his twitter handle made this known.

According to him, Baru passed away late Saturday night, but the cause of his death was not disclosed.

Kyari tweeted, “My brother, my friend and my mentor, Dr Maikanti Kachalla Baru, immediate past GMD of NNPC died late last night.

“He was of exemplary character and disposition. May Allah forgive him and have mercy upon him.”
