Fashola advocates decentralization of police, Ngigie, Kachikwu, Amaechi to be screened

The Nigerian Senate resumed the screening of ministerial nominees on Wednesday, with the former governor of Lagos State, being the first person to be screened.fashola babatunde

Former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, as he fields questions from the senate as part of his screening, is advocating decentralization of the Police in Nigeria.

Stating strongly, that decentralization will help create more jobs and it will greatly check crimes in the community.

Other nominees to be screened today are: Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, among the star attractions.

Kachikwu, an alumnus of the University of Nigeria Nsukka and Harvard University,  is appearing on the same day former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi are to be screened.

The senate successfully screened and approved 10 nominees from the first list on Tuesday leaving the remainder 11 for Wednesday.

All eyes will be on Rotimi Amaechi, whose nomination has drawn the most controversy so far, with senators from his state and his successor, Nyesom Wike, mounting spirited smear campaigns to disqualify him,

It is not likely however that they succeed as APC senators, in clear majority will support him, for being one of the leaders that inspired  the victory of 28 March.
