The Federal Executive Council (FEC), on Wednesday, reduced the examination registration fees for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Senior Secondary and Basic Education Certificates.
Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education, disclosed this after the FEC meeting.
According to him, the fee for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has been reduced from N5,000 to N3,500, while fee for the Senior Secondary School examination by the National Examination Council (NECO), will reduce from N11,350 to N9,850.
Adamu stated that examination fee for the Basic Education Certificate, also conducted by NECO will reduce from N5,500 to N4,000.
He said the new charges would take effect from January 2019.
