Nigeria’s female basketball team D’Tigress, will look to qualify for the next round as they face Argentina on Tuesday in the ongoing FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain.
Having lost their first group game against Australia 86-68, the girls put up a better performance in their second game and were victorious 74-68 against Turkey.
Speaking to sports Journalists, D’Tigress forward Evelyn Akhator who scored 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Turks, expressed delight at the win and craves for more support
“We made history by winning our first ever FIBA W/C match. This has given us the belief that we can keep winning”
“Thank you for all your support and keep supporting us” Akhator said
Support is ramping up for the team as Nigerian’s are anticipating a victory to avenge the Super Eagles loss to Argentina at the last FIFA World Cup.
