Fortuna Sittard, second division Dutch club, has fired Sunday Oliseh, former Super Eagles coach and announced Claudio Braga as a temporary replacement.
The management of the club said it took the decision over actions “not related to on-field performance”.
Fortuna Sittard said his relationship with other personnel at the club left them with no choice but to let him go.
“Fortuna Sittard immediately relieves Sunday Oliseh of his duties,” the club announced in a statement on Wednesday.
“The club management makes this decision as a result of the repeatedly culpable actions for a long period by the trainer towards several persons in the organisation.
“Several attempts by the club to move the trainer to other behaviuor remained unfortunately without result, resulting in an unworkable situation as a result.
“The board of Fortuna Sittard emphasizes that the decision to disband Sunday Oliseh is not motivated by the current sporting performance.
“Because of his inadmissible actions, the coach has made the co-operation with many people within the organization impossible.
“From players to employees. Fortuna Sittard regrets the decision, but states that the club interest goes above all else.”
Oliseh joined the club in December 2016.
He led Fortuna Sittard from the brink of relegation last season to the playoffs for top-flight promotion this term.
Oliseh had resigned as coach of Nigeran national team in February 2016.
He was barely eight months into the job when he left due to “contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages and benefits” to his players, assistant coaches and himself.
The new man is Claudio Braga. He will serve as head coach and Head of Youth Training.
Braga has UEFA Pro License.
“This gives him the right papers to be allowed to stand in front of the group with a professional football organization. The Portuguese born has broad experience in Dutch (youth) football. His career led him to clubs like PSV, Feijenoord, FC Utrecht, Sparta, Excelsior and the Portuguese Vitoria Setubal”, the club announced on their website.
