The Republic of Ghana has confirmed 1,032 new cases of Coronavirus, nearly two weeks after lifting the lockdown on some parts of the country.
President Nana Akufo-Addo lifted the three-week lockdown on the basis of “improved coronavirus testing”, on April 19, with the nation recording 1,042 cases, and 99 recoveries at that time.
His decision prompted mass celebration in Ghana, as many people stormed the streets to jubilate.
But the country has now recorded additional more than 1000 cases.
According to records from Ghana’s ministry of health, the country currently has 2,074 confirmed cases of COVID-19, out of which 212 recoveries and 17 deaths have been recorded.
