On-fire Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard has given yet another insight into his future, hinting that he might finish his career at Chelsea despite dreaming of Real Madrid.
His latest remarks adds more uncertainty as to where he might be plying his trade come next season.
Speaking to Sky sports ahead of the blues clash with Manchester United at the weekend, Hazard indicated he would have no problems retiring at Chelsea with Real Madrid still very much interested in signing him.
“I can finish with Chelsea, no problem at all,” he told Sky Sports.
“I am very happy with this club, with the team, my family is happy here.
“So, if I don’t go to Spain, it is not a problem. I love the fans – I think the fans love me! What happens in the future, I will be happy, so that’s it.”
Chelsea Chairman, Bruce Buck, had earlier in the week insisted that the club will do all it can to tie down the Belgian captain to a longer contract very soon.
Hazard’s contract runs out in 2020 and there has been very strong interest from Real Madrid as they keep searching for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chelsea will look to improve on a currently slow-paced contract re-negotiation which will include a hefty pay rise to keep the Belgian at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard is in superb form for club and country. He sits top of the goal scorers chat in England and inspires the Belgian team with his dazzling displays.
At the weekend, he is expected to lead Sarri’s side as they aim to open up a 10-point gap to Jose Mourinho’s struggling Manchester United team.
Hazard has scored five times in his previous 13 games against the Old Trafford outfit.
