A mother and her son have been caught having sex.
The two, who were allegedly caught in the act by the man’s wife, could now face up to 20 years in jail for incest.
Tony Lavoie, from Fitchburg, Massachusetts, in the United States, was allegedly caught having sex with his mother, Cheryl Lavoie, 64, in May this year.
The police were called to report the disturbing incident. The responding officer was told about the incident by cousin to Tony’s wife.
The cousin then told the officer that Tony’s wife had called about catching her husband having sex with his mother before calling 911, Sentinel & Enterprise reports.
The officer then reportedly spoke to both suspects, to acknowledge they had consensual sex relations.
According to the publication, both of them confessed that it was the first time it had happened.
The police officer was quoted as saying: “Tony said I don’t know. It just happened.”
Cheryl also said she had become close to her son few months earlier, and they both had sex after kissing.
The officer, after speaking to everyone involved, decided there was enough evidence to charge the mother and son with incest.
The suspects were summoned to appear in court with a felony.
They both pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.
The case was adjourned till October 27, 2020, for a pre-trial hearing.
The state’s general statutes stipulate that someone convicted of incest can face up to 20 years behind bars.
