Just In: Court grants Omoyele Sowore bail of N100m,

A High Court (Federal), sitting in Abuja has granted Omoyele Sowore, founder of Saharareporters and the co-convener of the RevolutionNow protest, bail.

The presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, granted him bail in the sum of 100 million naira, and in addition two sureties (Friday 1st October).

According to Ojukwu the prosecution failed to show good reasons the defendant should not be granted bail since the offences were bailable.

Also the presiding judge stopped Sowore from travelling outside of Abuja.

Recall that Sowore who was arrested for calling for a RevoltionNow protest against the Buhari led administration, was charged  with treason, and also cyberstalking of President Buhari’s government.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
