Kogi governor dissolves cabinet

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, on Wednesday, dissolved his cabinet with immediate effect.

According to The Nation, Bello told his former cabinet members to handover to the most senior officers in their various ministries.

He thanked them for serving in his cabinet, saying he appreciated their efforts as commissioners.

However, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Folashade Ayoade Arike, was not affected.

Bello, who was re-elected for another four years in office, appointed Kingsley Fanwo, Director- General, Media and Publicity to his office, as Special Adviser on Information and Communication.

Idris Hashiru, commissioner for finance, is now Special Adviser on Budget and Planning, while Momoh Jibril, the state Accountant General, and Auditor General, Yakubu Okala, as well as Muhammed Onogu, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor were reinstated.

It would be recalled that the governor sacked all special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants and some boards members in November this year, while Local Government administrators are yet to know their fate.
