Lagos State Ministry of Health, on Wednesday announced via its Twitter handle that a total of 49 COVID-19 patients have been discharged in Lagos.
According to the tweet, the patients included 28 females and 21 males, that were discharged from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba and the isolation centre at Onikan.
A total of 187 patients have now recovered in Lagos which has the highest number of confirmed cases in the country.
While 18 of the patients were discharged from IDH, Yaba, 31 were discharged from the Onikan isolation centre.
Lagos has recorded the highest number of positive cases and accounts for more than half of Nigeria’s total of 1,532 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Of the state’s total of 860 cases, 16 persons have been transferred from the state, while 19 deaths have been recorded.
As part of measures to limit the spread of the virus, the state has made wearing of masks compulsory in public gatherings. However, in broadcast on Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari said the lockdown declared on Lagos, Ogun and the federal capital territory (FCT) would be lifted on May 4.
