Two Nigerian singers, Adekunle Gold and Falz have reacted to the trending rape case that allegedly happened in De-Lankaster hotel in Lekki Phase One, Lagos.
Recall that an unnamed 23-year-old girl was reportedly raped some days ago by the duo of Razaq Oluwaseun Oke and Don-Chima George at DeLankaster Hotel, Lekki, Phase one, Lagos.
The duo, who took to their Instagram pages condemned the incident, saying justice must prevail.
According to the ‘This Is Nigeria’ singer, he said: “Our crooked and corrupt justice system makes everyone tremble that such a vile and despicable act of rape may go unpunished.
“However, Information reaching me is that the accused persons have been detained and The Department of Public Prosecutions will respond ASAP. We will not back down until justice is done.
“Everyone in a position of influence should do all they can to ensure this isn’t another case swept under the carpet because someone used “long leg” to jump above the law. Do not remain mute. This doesn’t have to happen to your sister or family member before you react! #JusticeForRapeInNigeria.”
Also, Adekunle Gold, in his own reaction, said sex without consent is rape and recording it is also vile, equated both acts to violence against humanity.
He further added that we should not keep quiet down online and offline, until the rape victim gets justice.
He posted a caption ‘JusticeForRapeInNigerian’ and wrote: “This is
not a women’s issue, this is everyone’s issue. Any and Everyone with a
voice, I implore you to not quiet down online and offline until we see
the resolution and this woman gets justice.
“Sex with without consent is rape, recording it is also vile. Both are a physical and emotional act of violence against humanity.”
