As part of efforts to improve on the credibility and tamper proof exercise, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has prohibited sixteen (16) items in the coming examination for all registered candidates.

In a document made available to media outfits, the examination body said candidates who intend to seat for the upcoming examination would be thoroughly scrutinized before entry to forestall malpractices. The prohibited items include: wrist watches, pen/biro, mobile phones or similar electronic devices, spy reading glasses which should be scrutinized, calculators or similar electronic devices, USB, CD, hard disks and or other similar storage devices.

Others banned include: Books or any Reading/writing material, cameras, Recorders, microphones, Ear Pieces, Ink/Pen Readers, Smart lenses, Smart Rings/Jewelries, Smart buttons and Bluetooth devices.

JAMB also noted that examination officials can scrutinize eye glasses or similar devices and where convinced that such item may compromise the sanctity of the examination, the examination official should confiscate it.

It also warned that where examination officials (Board Staff or Adhoc staff) or any authorized person is found with any of these prohibited items in the examination hall, such compromising action would be treated as a deliberate act of examination sabotage and necessary sanction will be applied.
